Heartwork

Gentleness
becomes
easier
like
learning to
apply
a salve.

I learn
to
cradle
my heart
with the
softest
of hands.

I unearth
every grenade
and bury instead
seeds
I choose
and I
pat the soil
with nurturing hands.
